How to connect RecRam to Google Sheets with Zapier
Automatically send video responses, respondent details, answers, and transcripts to Google Sheets whenever a new RecRam response is completed.
RecRamA response is completed
ZapierThe data is delivered
Google SheetsA new row is created
Before you start
- An active RecRam account with at least one published form.
- A Google Sheets file where you want to receive responses.
- A Zapier account. Open the Zapier Editor.
Step 1 — Create a new Zap
In Zapier, go to Create → New Zap. In the first step, called Trigger, search for and select RecRam.
Step 2 — Select “New Form Response”
- Choose the RecRam app.
- Select the New Form Response trigger.
- Click Continue.
Step 3 — Connect your RecRam account
Click Sign in to RecRam. Sign in with your RecRam account and approve the requested permissions.
Step 4 — Choose your form
- Open the Form dropdown.
- Select the form whose responses should be sent to Google Sheets.
- Click Continue, then use Test trigger to inspect the sample data.
If your form is not listed, reconnect the RecRam account and use Zapier’s refresh option.
Step 5 — Add Google Sheets
- For the second step, choose Google Sheets.
- Select the action Create Spreadsheet Row.
- Connect your Google account.
- Select the target spreadsheet and worksheet.
Step 6 — Map the fields
Once your spreadsheet columns are ready, map each Zapier field to the matching Google Sheets column. These are the most commonly used fields:
| Zapier field | Sheets column | What it contains |
|---|---|---|
id |
Response ID | Unique response identifier |
form_name |
Form Name | The form name |
contact_email |
Respondent’s email address | |
contact_first_name |
First Name | Respondent’s first name |
q1_title |
Question 1 | The actual question title |
q1_answer |
Answer 1 | The answer or AI summary |
q1_transcript |
Transcript 1 | The video transcript |
q1_video_url |
Video URL 1 | A link to open the video |
q1_title is the stable technical field name. The value in that row is the actual question title. For example, the value under q1_title may be “Record Your Feedback Video”. The second question uses q2_title, q2_answer, and q2_transcript.
Step 7 — Test and turn on the Zap
- Use Test step to inspect the sample row.
- Confirm that each field is mapped to the intended column.
- Click Publish or Turn on Zap.
From now on, every completed response from the selected RecRam form will create a new row in Google Sheets.
How does this work with 50 questions?
Questions are numbered in order: q1_*, q2_*, q3_*, and so on. Every question includes a qN_title field, so you can identify which answer belongs to which question. Stable qN fields are used instead of changing the spreadsheet headers to match question titles; this keeps your Zap mapping reliable when a form changes.
Troubleshooting
Reconnect the RecRam account and refresh the form field in Zapier.
Make sure the form includes a Contact Info field with an email input.
Make sure the video response has finished processing. RecRam generates the transcript automatically for completed video responses.
