What is screen recording in RecRam?
Screen recording in RecRam is an answer type for video forms: on a question that allows it, the respondent picks Screen, shares a tab, a window or their whole screen in their desktop browser, and explains as they go. Nothing to install. Your team gets the recording, a transcript, a summary, keywords and sentiment.
It turns “the button doesn’t work” into the actual page, the actual click and the actual error, in the customer’s own words.
Good to know
Desktop browsers only
Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on a computer. Phone and tablet browsers can’t share the screen, so RecRam hides the option there.
They choose what you see
The browser’s own dialog asks for a tab, a window or the whole screen. Nothing is shared until they pick one.
Their voice, and the tab’s sound
The microphone narrates the recording. In Chrome and Edge the shared tab’s sound can come along too.
Up to 10 minutes
On every plan. Set a shorter limit, or a minimum, on the question.
What the person answering sees
Five steps from the question to a sent recording, rebuilt here from the live recorder’s screens and wording. The shared page is example content.
Question from the SaaS churn demo, with Screen ticked
Step 1 of 5
They pick Screen
Screen sits next to Video, Voice and Text on any question where you ticked it.
On phones and tablets the Screen option doesn’t appear, because mobile browsers can’t share the screen. Keep Video, Voice or Text on the same question so everyone can answer.
The recording, already transcribed and summarized
Every screen recording lands in your responses as a video answer, with the same AI work as any other: a transcript of what they said, a summary, three to five keywords and a sentiment label.

Real AI output for the same question
Sofia is a fictional sample respondent from the SaaS churn demo. She answered “Where did you get stuck?” by voice; this is her recording and the summary RecRam wrote for it.
- Transcript
- “Um, the reporting dashboard was incredibly confusing. I spent hours trying to build a simple funnel chart and just gave up.”
- Summary
- Customer struggled significantly with the reporting dashboard and could not demonstrate ROI.
- Keywords
- usability, reporting, ROI
- Sentiment
- Negative
With Screen on, the same answer arrives with the dashboard she got stuck in.
And around every recording
Click a line, jump to the moment
The transcript follows the recording, and each line seeks the player to where it was said.
Your own checks, on the picture too
Turn on AI Analysis and RecRam asks the model your questions about the recording itself, sound and picture, then tags, flags, emails or calls a webhook.
Comments on the second
Teammates leave notes pinned to the moment in the recording.
Read it in your language
Translate the transcript into 100 languages.
Where teams ask people to show it
Four places a screen recording beats a written description. Each question below is an example you could put on a Recorder step.
Bug reports
“Show us what happens when you click Save.”
The first report already has the page, the steps and the error message, so nobody has to ask for a screenshot.
Visual bug reportingUX research and user testing
“Try to build a report for last month and think out loud.”
Participants run the task on their own machine and time. You hear where they hesitate and see where they click.
User testing and bug reportsSupport tickets
“Walk us through the problem on your screen.”
Agents start with full context. Connect Zendesk and each answer opens a ticket with the transcript and summary.
Video support ticketsOnboarding walkthroughs
“Show us how your setup looks today.”
Customers show their setup, and in a Room your team can reply with a screen recording of its own.
