October 2026 Update: Media Library, New Mainboard, Research Lab
It has been a busy few months since we introduced RecRam Showcase in May. This update brings a rebuilt Media Library, a new Mainboard, a tidier Forms section with Messages built in, and the first report from our new Research Lab. We also upgraded tracking, Google Sheets, API keys and webhooks, and fixed a list of smaller things you told us about.
In short
Here is everything in this update:
Media Library, rebuilt: every file in one place, storage by type, ZIP downloads and safe delete.
New Mainboard: KPI cards with sparklines, a “Needs attention” strip and an inbox-style activity feed.
Forms and Messages: video messages now live in Forms, with faster filters, folder stats and “Move to folder”.
Research Lab: our first report on how people answer video forms, with charts and data you can reuse.
Tracking v2: server-side Meta Conversions API and GA4 Measurement Protocol, with cookie consent modes.
Google Sheets v2: one-click spreadsheet, a status card, retry, auto-pause and backfill.
API keys and webhooks: more control over keys, signed V2 webhooks and secret rotation.
Smaller improvements: translation into 100 languages, Showcase wall fixes and a 28-day free trial.
A rebuilt Media Library
We rebuilt the Media Library from the ground up (8 October), and you find it in the sidebar. It collects every file in your organization: the videos, voice notes, images and documents your respondents send through forms, captures and messages, plus your own uploads.
What you can do now:
Browse All files, Received or My uploads, or narrow it down by source: Forms, Captures or Messages.
See your storage at a glance: how much of your plan you use, what is left, and a breakdown by video, audio, image and file. We warn you when you get close to the limit.
Switch between grid and list views, filter by type and date, and sort by newest, oldest or largest.
Select up to 200 files (2 GB) and download them as one ZIP. We prepare it in the background and keep it ready for 24 hours.
Download single files as real files, instead of opening them in a new tab. The same fix applies to answers, message previews and capture cards.
Deleting is safe by design. Before anything is removed, we check where each file is used. Files that appear in live content, such as a form or a Showcase wall, carry an “In use” badge, and we will not delete them until you remove them from those places. If a file came from a respondent, we ask you to confirm first. When the delete finishes, you see how much space you freed, and the storage figure updates right away.
Find, filter and download every file your forms collect, and see exactly how much space each type of file uses.
A new Mainboard
The Mainboard is the first screen you see, so we rebuilt it (8 October) around one question: what needs you today?
Four KPI cards for Responses, Views, Completion rate and Messages, each with a trend arrow and a weekly sparkline.
A “Needs attention” strip for the things that should not wait: a trial ending, a limit at 80% or more, unread messages, unfinished responses and your setup checklist.
An inbox-style activity feed with search and filters (All, Videos, Forms, Messages, Incomplete), video thumbnails with sentiment, and “New” markers.
A quick-view drawer: watch the video, read the AI summary and transcript, and step to the previous or next response without leaving the page.
Plan and integration cards on the right: your usage against your plan, and a few suggested tools to connect.
The Create button at the top starts a new form, an AI-generated form, a Video Magnet and more in one click.
See how your forms are doing this week and what needs your attention, then open any response in one click.
Forms and Messages, in one place
Video messages (what you knew as Rooms) now live inside Forms, in a Messages tab next to Folders and Analytics (27 September). Conversations and video replies sit in one list you can filter by status and folder, and the unread count shows on the Forms icon in the sidebar. Old Rooms links take you to the new tab, and email branding moved to Settings → Organization.
On 9 October the forms list got faster and more useful:
Search, status filters and sorting now run on the server, so results stay correct however many forms you have.
Sort by Completion rate, flip the sort direction, and see a Completion column in the table.
Folder cards show the number of forms, how many are active, total responses and the last response.
Use “Move to folder” from any form’s menu.
Open a single response straight from a link. The Mainboard uses these links to take you right to a reply.
Filter Forms Analytics by folder.
Start from a template in one click: “Use template” asks for a folder at most once.
We also call workspaces “folders” in the interface now. Your links and API calls stay the same.
Sort forms by completion rate, move them between folders and keep messages next to the forms they belong to.
Introducing RecRam Research Lab
RecRam Research Lab is a new home on our website for original data on how people answer video forms. Every study is published with its method, its limits, downloadable aggregate data and charts you can reuse with credit.
The first report, The State of Multimodal Form Responses 2026, is built from RecRam platform data on how people answer video, voice and text questions. A few things we found:
Nearly 1 in 2 answers to recording questions (48.1%) was a video. 32.0% were typed, 12.3% were file uploads and 3.8% were voice.
74.1% of video responses came from phones (counting the responses where we could tell the device).
Responses with video held 2.23 video answers each, on average.
Each finding comes with the sample it is based on and the caveat that goes with it. You can embed any chart with one snippet, and download the data behind every chart as a CSV, free to reuse under CC BY 4.0 with a link back.
Read the six findings, then embed a chart or download the data for your own article or deck.
Integrations and developer updates
Tracking v2: server-side conversions for Meta and GA4
In March we added form tracking with Google Tag Manager, GA4 and Meta Pixel. Tracking v2 (9 October) builds on it:
Send conversions from our server with the Meta Conversions API and the GA4 Measurement Protocol. Secrets are write-only and stored encrypted, and each one shows when it last sent successfully.
Pick a cookie consent mode: No consent check, Show a consent banner, or Consent from the embedding page.
Six standard events with names you can copy: page view, form view, form start, step complete, video recorded and form submit. For Meta, you choose which event a submission sends (Lead, CompleteRegistration, Contact, Schedule or SubmitApplication).
The embed code has an optional “Analytics & consent” section. It can forward events to your page’s dataLayer (and to gtag() and fbq() if you like), wait for consent from your page, and pass UTM parameters and click IDs to the form automatically.
Choose how consent works, then send the same six events to your tags in the browser and to Meta and GA4 from our server.
Google Sheets v2
We redesigned the Google Sheets panel and made delivery more reliable (9 October):
Create a new spreadsheet in one click, and we write the headers for you. Or pick one from Google Drive.
Send your past responses too (up to 500 at a time), in the background.
A status card shows the spreadsheet and tab, when the last row was sent and anything still waiting, with a Retry now button.
If deliveries fail several times in a row, sending pauses, we email the form owner, and you resume with one click. While Google is disconnected, responses wait instead of failing.
Customize columns: edit headers, add data from questions, contact details, AI fields (Transcript, AI summary, Sentiment) and hidden fields or UTM, or use the recommended layout.
Check that responses reach your sheet, retry anything waiting and choose exactly which columns you get.
API keys, webhooks and Zapier
API keys: edit a key, disable or enable it, set an expiry date and per-key rate limits.
Webhooks: edit a webhook, rotate its signing secret, browse delivery history and retry a delivery.
Signed V2 webhooks: every webhook now carries an X-Recram-Signature-V2 header with a timestamp, which protects against replays, and a stable X-Recram-Event-Id for deduplication. Existing signatures keep working.
Zapier: the Form dropdown now lists your forms.
Smaller improvements
Translate a response video into 100 languages. The transcript, summary and subtitles change together, and subtitles keep their timing.
Showcase walls show your changes right away, embedded walls have a transparent background, stats record correctly, and carousel arrows no longer cover clip titles on mobile.
Recorded video answers start playing sooner.
The free trial is now 28 days, with no credit card needed.
The one-click Unsubscribe link in our emails now works as it should.
Where to find everything
Media Library and Mainboard: in the sidebar.
Messages: Forms, then the Messages tab.
Tracking and Google Sheets: in the form builder, under Publish, then Integrations.
API keys and webhooks: in Settings.
Everything above is live now in app.recram.com. If something does not work the way you expect, or there is something you would like us to build next, just reply to any of our emails or write to us through our contact page. We read every message.
