What this guide covers
Alongside recorded replies, RecRam video forms support structured question types: NPS, rating scales, dropdowns, multiple choice, picture choice, date picker, and file upload. This guide explains when to use each one and what to check when respondents can’t upload files.
Every question type works in the browser. Respondents don’t need an app or an account.
NPS, rating, dropdown, and multiple choice
Video Forms supports NPS, rating scales, dropdowns, and multiple-choice inputs. Use them for answers you want to compare across respondents, and pair them with a recorded question when you also want the reasons behind the answer.
Picture choice
Use picture choice questions to help respondents decide faster.
Date picker
Use date picker questions to collect scheduling details and availability. If you want respondents to book a time directly, see the appointment booking section in Collect Contact Details, Consent, and Appointment Bookings.
File upload
File Upload questions let respondents send supporting files in the same flow as their answers. The maximum file upload size depends on your plan: 100 MB on Starter and 200 MB on Professional.
Add questions to your form
- Set the form’s objective and keep the first flow focused.
- Choose the question types and reply modes that suit your audience.
- Apply logic, branding, and distribution settings.
- Run internal tests in desktop and mobile browsers.
- Publish, then monitor early responses for quality and completion.
Troubleshooting: respondents can’t upload files
- Reproduce the issue with one controlled test. Note the exact file, browser, and device.
- Check the file against your plan’s maximum upload size.
- Confirm the prerequisite settings, including the form’s sharing configuration.
- Apply the smallest fix first and retest with the same file.
- Retest in desktop and mobile browsers after each fix.
- Give respondents a fallback, for example a Voice or Text reply, so they aren’t blocked while you investigate.
Common mistakes
- Launching without end-to-end testing.
- Using one setup for every audience without adapting it.
- Changing several settings at once and losing track of what fixed the problem.
