What this guide covers
The flow of a form decides whether people finish it. This guide covers the RecRam settings that shape that flow: conditional logic, multi-step layout, the back button and step numbers, branding, and redirects after submission. It ends with what to check when your completion rate is low.
Route respondents with conditional logic
Conditional logic routes respondents to different follow-up paths based on their answers. A common example is creating separate flows for positive and negative feedback, so each group gets follow-up questions that fit their experience.
Design multi-step forms without drop-off
Keep the first flow focused. Start with the questions that matter most, and add more only when the answers justify them.
- Step numbers: show or hide them depending on your survey style.
- Back button: show or hide it to control whether respondents can return to earlier steps.
Customize branding
You can customize your form’s logo, colors, and thank-you screen so it matches your brand.
Redirect after submission
Add a redirect step after submission to send respondents on to the next page in your journey.
Build and test the flow
- Set the form’s objective and keep the first flow focused.
- Choose question types and reply modes for your audience.
- Apply logic, branding, and redirect settings.
- Walk through every logic path yourself in desktop and mobile browsers.
- Publish, then monitor early responses for quality and completion.
Troubleshooting: low completion rate
- Reproduce the respondent’s path with one controlled test and note where you would drop off.
- Check the reply modes. Make sure Voice or Text is available so people who won’t record video can still finish.
- Check recording time limits. See Choose Reply Modes and Recording Settings.
- Check that the first flow is short and focused.
- Test on real mobile devices. Mobile behavior should be validated on real devices before rollout.
- Change one thing at a time and retest, so you know which change helped.
Common mistakes
- Launching without end-to-end testing of every logic path.
- Using one setup for every audience without adapting it.
- Not providing a fallback path for people who can’t or won’t record.
