What this guide covers

Once your video form is ready, you need the right channel to start collecting responses. You can share a RecRam form by direct link, embed it on your website, print it as a QR code, or send it by email or Slack. Respondents reply directly in their browser. They don’t need to download an app or create an account.

This guide helps you choose a channel, walks you through each one, and covers what to check when an embedded form doesn’t display correctly.

Choose a distribution method

  • Direct link: the fastest option for one-to-one or campaign sharing.
  • Embed: best when the form should live inside your website experience.
  • QR code: useful for events, in-person touchpoints, and printed materials.
  • Email or Slack: best when you already reach your audience through internal or customer communication workflows.

Before you share

  1. Confirm the form’s status and flow.
  2. Open the form link in a private browser window and complete one full test submission.
  3. Repeat the test on both desktop and mobile.

Share a direct link

  1. Open the Share options for your form.
  2. Pick the channel that fits your audience.
  3. Add clear call-to-action text next to the link. Say what the person should do and how long it takes.

Embed the form on your website

  1. In the Share options, copy the embed code.
  2. Place it on a test page first.
  3. Submit a test response from the test page on desktop and on mobile.
  4. Move the embed code to your production page. Check that it sits in the right placement in your page template.

If you track campaigns with UTM parameters, embedded forms need one extra step. See Track Campaign Sources with UTM Parameters in Video Forms.

To show a form as a widget on your site instead, use Magnet. See Install Magnet on Your Website.

Share with a QR code

  1. Choose the QR code option in the Share options.
  2. Before you print or display it, scan it with a phone.
  3. Confirm that the scan opens the form and that you can complete a submission on mobile.

Share by email or Slack

Use email or Slack when your audience already talks to you there, for example in internal team workflows or existing customer communication. As with a direct link, state clearly what you are asking for and how long it will take.

Troubleshooting: the embedded form doesn’t display correctly

  1. Reproduce it with one controlled test. Use one page, one browser, and one device, and note exactly what you did.
  2. Check the embed placement. Embed code placed in the wrong spot on a page template is a common mistake.
  3. Check the form itself. Confirm the sharing configuration and that the form works through its direct link.
  4. Change one thing at a time. Apply the smallest fix first, then retest with the same scenario.
  5. Retest on desktop and mobile after each fix.
  6. Keep respondents unblocked. While you fix the embed, share the direct link so people can still respond.
  7. Write down the root cause and add it to your launch checklist.

Common mistakes

  • Sharing before you’ve confirmed the form’s status and flow.
  • Placing embed code in the wrong spot on a page template.
  • Skipping mobile testing for QR-led campaigns.
